Agribusiness as a venture is worth billions if you ask me and any entrepreneur out here. Most people still overlook it for other white-collar jobs, which should not be the case.
Several people make hundreds of thousands, if not millions, daily from Agribusiness; hence as an investor, it's a venture worth exploring.
In the recent wake of events, though, many people have started venturing into these businesses, and they have started filling up. Hence, this article explores explorable ideas and is still cheap to set up.
Packaging and Supplying Agricultural produce.
This is for you if you're an entrepreneur with access to a local area, probably the upcountry.
The value of most agricultural produce is diminished since most lack the finesse that comes with the packaging.
Pick any agricultural product from its sources, do some packaging, and resell it as a whole brand. You can set up a shop or do everything online. The target market for this type of venture is primarily middle-class families. Statistics show that most middle-class families consume mostly packaged goods. Hence your market is already set.
To set up this business would require one to have capital below 50k. Most of the budget will go to buying the stock and packaging materials. At the same time, the rest will go to marketing and transport costs. Reselling this at 20% profit margins is bound to earn back your initial capital in a few weeks, depending on how quickly you sell.
Milk supply and milk ATMs
Every family consumes a considerable amount of milk weekly. Most buy packaged milk from shops daily in retail or weekly in dozens.
However, milk ATMs have been developed and still need to spread more. These machines, like the ones for cash, have milk deposits, and people pay into them and get milk depending on how much they pay.
These machines have inbuilt coolers and heaters and keep the milk fresh always. ATMs for milk are readily available within the country and are affordable.
Buying these machines and setting them up can cost you below 100k, but daily returns are estimated at up to 10k, depending on the machine's location. In addition, it can be used as a secondary income source for another existing business.
Selling Spices
Apart from the coastal region, getting some spices within the country is almost impossible. This opens up a venture to sell spices as most people still use them.
Buy in surplus, divide into units and resell in markets. You can also package them and sell them as packaged produce.
Either way, you require about 50k or lower to set up a medium-level business selling spices. Its returns are dependent on sales but are bound to be profitable.
